Placefirst – who are we?

Placefirst is a leading and award-winning UK build-to-rent provider. Specialising in regeneration through both innovative refurbishment and new developments, Placefirst designs, builds, and manages the neighbourhoods we create.

As a regeneration specialist, our commitment to placemaking is shown through a strong track record of existing schemes, creating communities with a real sense of place, supported by dedicated on-site residents’ services managers.

Welsh Streets is no different – we maintain a presence on site via our dedicated resident service managers who, as many of you will know, are a part of the local community beyond the day-to-day estate management.  This is key in the creation of a successful community and something we are keen expand on at High Park Street, with the creation of a new, permanent, community hub.

The Welsh Streets – the story so far

Placefirst began work on the Welsh Streets in 2017 and so far, we have successfully delivered over 250 homes, representing an investment of over £40m.

The Welsh Streets is a now a vibrant community of over 480 residents. Upon the completion of Phase 5, a mix of 283 new build or refurbished homes will have been completed.

We are proud to have also created private gardens and landscaped communal spaces, whilst preserving Welsh Streets’ Victorian Heritage. We are passionate about this scheme.

We are currently unable to keep pace with the demand for housing on the Welsh Streets.  The development is fully let with a sizeable waiting list.

After much consideration on potential options for the site, we believe its best use would be for the proposed development with a new community hub to help meet the continued demand for high quality rental homes in the area.
